Shannon first discovered Yoga over 20 years ago in New York City while working in a fast-paced, high stress corporate job seeking something to help unwind. Always active and trying the latest fitness trends, yoga was a constant. She received her RYT200 in 2015 and completed her Barre certification that same year. She also has been teaching Mat Pilates since 2011. Her approach to teaching is with enthusiasm and encouragement. Shannon has been volunteering at the Brandywine YMCA for the past 4 years with the 3 and 4-year-old preschoolers doing Yoga once a month. “When I step into the classroom, my goal is to make Yoga fun and accessible. More importantly, I hope that each child can learn to use their breath to calm their mind, to love their bodies and feel strong and confident.” These are tools she uses with her own two boys who occasionally will practice Yoga with her at her home.
